General Research

JSTOR JSTOR's archival journal collections include more than two thousand scholarly journals in the humanities, social sciences, and sciences. Coverage begins at the first volume and issue of the journal ever published, and extends up to a publication date usually set in the past three to five years.

EBSCOhost Gateway to a collection of citations and full-text articles for general academic research, including business, education, psychology and sociology, literature and film, history, religion and philosophy, health and medicine.

Arkansas Traveler Offers over 75 free databases through the Arkansas State Library.

Gale Academic OneFile (over 30,000,000 articles), Gale Research Library (a full-text collection of multi-volume reference works, and many subject-specific collections in business, science, history, religion, etc.

ProQuest A collection of databases providing citations and full-text articles in business, academic and news publications.

Springer Journals Access to over ten million documents from journals, books, and reference works.

The Reference Shelf 

FirstSearch Gateway to twelve databases provided by the Arkansas State Library. The databases provide access to citations and full-text publications on a variety of research topics. Source types include articles, conference papers, and dissertations.

Professional Development Collection 520 education journals for professional educators.

ERIC Education Resource Information Center provides 1.3 million records and links to more than 323,000 full-text documents dating back to 1966.

Teacher Reference Center Indexing and abstracts for 280 teacher and administrator journals.    

The Chronicle of Higher Education Authorized users can set up a free account, using their university email address. Click on “Sign In” at the upper right of the webpage. After you click on the link, there is an option to either “Sign In” or “Sign Up” to “Sign up and create your account.”
