ACLS Humanities E-books A collection of nearly 4,000 classic, but mostly out-of-print, books by reputable scholars in the humanities, recommended and reviewed by area specialists and sponsored by the American Council of Learned Societies (hence the name).

Springer e-Books SpringerLink provides access to over 20,000 high-quality books in a broad range of disciplines, including the physical and social sciences and humanities.

Early English Books Online This remarkable database contains high-fidelity e-versions of more than 125,000 English language titles originally published between 1473 and 1700.

General Research

EBSCOhost Gateway to a collection of citations and full-text articles for general academic research, including business, education, psychology and sociology, literature and film, history, religion and philosophy, health and medicine.

Gale Infotrac Academic OneFile (over 30,000,000 articles), Gale Research Library (a full-text collection of multi-volume reference works, and many subject-specific collections in business, science, history, religion, etc.

ProQuest A collection of databases providing citations and full-text articles in business, academic and news publications.

Springer Journals SpringerLink provides access to over 20,000 high-quality books in a broad range of disciplines, including the physical and social sciences and humanities.

Periodicals Archive Online Full text access to millions of articles in over 5,000 periodicals (going back to 1665) in 37 subject areas in the humanities and social sciences.

Credo Reference Credo is an encyclopedic, user-friendly tool for researching people, quotations, definitions, concepts, historical events, and more. Credo offers access to over 400 full-text reference resources, and is fully integrated with both the library catalog and other databases. It's rather like Wikipedia, except that you can actually use this in a research paper.

Oxford Reference Online A collection of over 200 reference works published by Oxford University Press.

Oxford English Dictionary - Online Next time you're playing scrabble, prove the veracity of your triple word score usage of "exequy" by calling on this easily searchable online version of the venerable multi-volume English language resource.

Statista View your world statistically from over 18,000 reliable international sources.

The Reference Shelf 

FirstSearch Gateway to twelve databases provided by the Arkansas State Library. The databases provide access to citations and full-text publications on a variety of research topics. Source types include articles, conference papers, and dissertations.

Science This weekly magazine is perhaps the most important U.S. forum for the presentation and discussion of research and issues related to science and technology. The database offers full text for the past ten years and indexing for the past 130. (Robson Library has paper backfiles of Science from 1932 to 2015).

Nature An authoritative international weekly examination of scientific research and issues. The database offers full text of the current and previous ten years, and indexing for articles back to the mid-nineteenth century.

BioOne A collection of Bioscience research journals. As a bonus with our BioOne subscription, we also have access to BAID (BioOne Abstracts and Indexes Database) through CSA (Cambridge Scientific Abstracts). With BAID, you can employ CSA's thesaurus searching with descriptors, identifiers and other controlled vocabulary qualifiers and filters.

SciFinder Chemical Abstracts Service's registry and index to peer-reviewed science journals. First time users must register.

Mental Measurements Yearbook with Tests in Print Provides users with a comprehensive guide to over 3,000 contemporary testing instruments. Tests in Print (TIP) serves as a comprehensive bibliography to all known commercially available tests that are currently in print in the English language.

Children's Literature Comprehensive Database  Provides reliable one search access to all important and relevant information about Pre K-12 media of all types, including reviews from respected publications for those professionals who work with Pre K-12 media.
